After a confirmation of the trial date, the bride and I meet, and firstly discuss her tastes in make-up and hairstyling. I ask numerous questions about the style of her dress and the accessories she will be wearing, as her make-up must complement the rest of her choices. We look at reference pictures as inspiration and discuss what style of make-up and hair she would like to have.
This collection was shot in the gorgeous Cape Town City Hall, and on a rooftop near the city with a picturesque view for an urban feel. For the makeup look we did a dramatic eye, concentrating more smokeyness on the lower lash line. Assisting me to create this look was the talented Denita Goosen, who is one of my preferred artists to assist me for bigger wedding parties. Floral inspiration for all the flower lovers - this beautiful shoot featured a delicate bodice constructed out of fresh flowers! For the makeup I did a classic winged liner paired with a red lip, and a simple classic sleek bun. Balloons, bunny rabbits, and luscious bouquets of cascading greens were some creative complements for this bridal wear shoot. For the make-up I did a 60s inspired bridal look, with cool silvery tones for the eyeshadow, and soft pink on her lips. When creatives team together, beautiful things happen. The gorgeous model Christy was our perfect muse for this shoot. For the makeup I did a very sculpted and contoured face, and accentuated her eye shape by extending the eyeshadow outwards in a dramatic shape. For this bridal wear shoot the creative complementary elements were botanical leaves. I did a simple, romantic make-up look, drawing attention to Jamie’s beautiful blue eyes. The gorgeous Yusra is comfortable with make-up and wasn’t afraid for me to work my magic. Her preferred bridal look drew inspiration from Kim Kardassian’s first wedding make-up look. Alungile and Mvuzo did a beautiful couple shoot with the talented Tabitha from Illuminate photography, I absolutely love the way she captures light. For Alugile I did a sultry smokey eye and a dark maroon lip to complement some of the autumn tones of Mvuzo’s suit. Jo-Ann has the most beautiful natural auburn hair colour and fair skin. We did a make-up look that played up the green of her eyes, and worked with, and enhanced, her natural curls to form an elegant, soft updo, showing off what is truly her.
